Meet the Artist
Corinne Barton is an established realist artist residing in Perth, Western Australia. She primarily works on commission. Her mediums of choice include oil on canvas, oil on board, and mixed-media forms incorporating genuine gold leaf. She is inspired by the intricacy and beauty found in the natural world, and the complex relationship between man and nature. During the course of her rich career as a professional artist which began in childhood, Corinne has developed passion and skill across a variety of painting styles including realism, portraiture and the Old Master style.

Experience
Corinne is a realist oil painter with an art teaching degree from Melbourne Teacher’s College, and a Diploma of Art from Claremont Art School. In 2016, Corinne travelled to the Angel Academy of Art in Florence to study the Renaissance style of painting. Inspired by her time in Florence, Corinne has produced a series of works in the Old Master style.
After receiving her first set of oil paints at the age of eight, Corinne became immersed in her art, and when she was fourteen, she received her first commission. Corinne has had three major solo exhibitions and participated in many group exhibitions. She has completed over a hundred private commissions, including many portraits.
Corinne is an Artsource member and a WA Art Gallery foundation member. Her paintings are in public and private art collections locally and overseas. Their subject matter is derived from beauty found in the natural world and the relationship of man to nature. Corinne has been featured in the West TV television series Gallery Watch, where she was interviewed about her artworks and inspirations.
